This is the funeral hall where the ceremony was held. The guy with the thinning hair, over by what I think is a guestbook table, is probably my dad. As you can see, this place is wheelchair accessible, but one or more bouquets would probably have to be moved out of the way if anyone in a wheelchair actually did show up.

Funeral halls are a fairly modern development. Traditionally, the body would be sealed in a coffin at home and people would come at all hours every day from the time of death to the day of the funeral to pay their respects.
